[ Can't hear...his lips thin in fury and he's already moving to where he can hear his disciple. ]

I can hear you. Stay right there, I'm coming to you.

[ Zishu is visibly angry when he finds Chengling and takes him by the arm, looking him over intently.

But he knows first hand how challenging hearing loss can be, so returns to texting after a moment. ]

What do you remember?

[ Chengling waits for the other to get to him and he's almost worried more when he sees Zishu is angry but it is clear quickly that it's not at him. He stares wide-eyed at Zishu even as the other is texting him. He's trying to get ahold of himself but he's terrified by this. ]

An ayakashi cursed me... I don't know what I did!

[ Chengling says out loud, it's faster than typing and he knows the other can hear him. ]

[ He adjusts his hold to rest his hand on the boy's shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze as he thinks on that answer. He's still angry that this happened to someone under his protection, but all they can do right now is find a solution.

And he has a feeling he knows what that is. ]

They might have just been bored.

[ Ugh. He hates this part. It's not his business what his disciple does with his personal life...but he won't just abandon him to this fear. ]

[ It's a constant ongoing moment of terror to hear nothing, a vacuum of silence. Even seeing his Shifu doesn't completely quell it. He's trying not to cry again as the other squeezes his shoulders and his hands ball into fists, one clenching his device. ]

Tried anything? What is there to try? It just happened... I don't know what to do.
