[ He laughs softly and shakes his head at his silly love. ]

I will not abandon my Lao Wen.

So you'll marry me? [He brightens as if he has managed the impossible.]

[ Trying to control his wide grin now, he raises his brows and blinks, schooling his mouth into something more severe. ]

What kind of proposal is that?

[ Clicking his tongue, he lifts his chin. ]

Surely you can do better.

[He clutches the now...cooing? how is it cooing?...creature to his shoulder, blushing profusely.]

I can! But it would be better if you...and I...were face to face.

A-Xu, where are you?

[ ...Oh.

Oh.

Now his heart flutters and he ducks his head a little. His Lao Wen teases, but this...not this. His gaze softens helplessly and he takes a seat in his little room before answering. ]

My room. It's small, but you can come live with me. It's where you belong, anyway.

[He isn't teasing. Not about this! He rises and tucks their little monster into a satchel that is made out of cleverly looped and knotted blankets. The baby rests against his chest quite happily.]

I'm a dreg, A-Xu. Are you sure you want me?

[ He lifts his face just enough for his steady gaze to be seen and felt. ]

They don't know you. I want you.

[A shiver runs down his back and he hurries on his way.]

We're coming to you.

[He finds Zishu's room without difficulty, holding onto their bond. He will always be able to find his soulmate.

His hand shakes as he knocks.]

[ He waits, forcing himself to be still even as he follows that sense of his soulmate come closer. Closer...There. The knock follows and he stands, crossing the small space to open the door. He reaches for that trembling hand to tug Kexing wordlessly inside before closing the door behind him.

The cute little monster gets a pet over its...back? But he only has eyes for Wen Kexing. ]

[Kexing holds his breath as he is tugged inside. He stares at his A-Xu, completely entranced. No finer beauty exists. This is the man his heart belongs to - for always. He sets the small creature on a cushioned chair and then kneels before his soulmate.]

A-Xu...

Will you marry me? I mean it. I don't want anyone else. Ever. Just you.

[ Zishu gazes right back, sinking into the peace and endless acceptance in his Lao Wen's eyes. Then that action, those words, a shiver runs through him and he swallows before slowly reaching out and burying a hand in his soulmate's soft hair. ]

Yes. You are the only one I want. The only one I need.

[He accepts every bit of his A-Xu. Every lie, every sin, every victory, every defeat, every weakness, every strength. All of it. He is shaking as he waits for an answer, praying and hoping that his dearest dream is possible. He leans into the hand in his hair, his gaze never leaving his A-Xu's perfect face.]

...A-Xu! [He launches himself forward and embraces Zishu with a laugh.]

[ How can he do any less for his Lao Wen? He doesn't care about the murders, the torture, any of it that Kexing has heaped on others. Zishu is hardly better!

He laughs as his silly love leaps at him and wraps his arms around him to hold him tight. ]

Lao Wen~

[He will be better now. He will be his best self now. For A-Xu. For himself. The darkness of his past is exactly that - in the past. He doesn't have to simply exist anymore.]

Oh... I'm sorry! Did I hurt you? [Kexing smiles giddily, flushed, but there is concern in his eyes.] I just... You said yes.

To me. We... A-Xu, I'll make you happy, I promise.

[ He chuckles and nudges their noses together, petting over his silly love's soft hair then down over his back. ]

You healed me. I'm strong enough to handle being pounced.

[ Zishu grins at Kexing. ]

Ridiculous. You already do.

[Kexing bends and lifts Zishu, carrying him to his bed. He lays beside him and strokes over his cheek and his neck.]

I love you so much. I don't think I can put it into words. No one will be able to hurt you ever again, A-Xu. I would kill them for even considering it.

[ He settles beside his love and presses close. ]

You don't need to, my Lao Wen. I know. Anyone who tries to hurt you again will be destroyed.

[He brushes his thumb over Zishu's lips.]

I pity anyone who faces you - except for myself. [He grins slowly.] I will spar A-Xu whenever he likes!

[There is a small coo and suddenly the monster is snuggled between them. Is that their butt? Their face? Who knows.]

Hi there.

[ He purses his lips to kiss that thumb! Then smirks and tangles their legs together. ]

I like sparring with Lao Wen.

[ Only to laugh quietly as their little monster wiggles between them. He pets over the cute little wings. ]

He got jealous of being ignored.

No one else is worth the trouble. [Kexing grins and rubs their legs together.] I think we should wait for a better time to get married. But it's going to happen. Just not on a train.

[He is about to kiss Zishu again when the baby monster appears. He laughs and lifts the little one onto his chest.]

Did you? Poor baby.

[ He laughs again. ] Peacock. [ His voice is, however, laced with affection. ] No, not on a train. Once this mess is dealt with though.

[ Grinning, he tickles over the little monster. ]

[Kexing smirks proudly and then, abruptly, softens. Little wings flutter against his hands and he pats the monster's back.]

Works for me. As soon as it's done, I'll make preparations.

[A lopsided leg wiggles. Hey, that does tickle!]

[ He smiles warmly, hands continuing to move over the silly looking monster. ]

I look forward to formally being yours.

[ Because he already considers himself as belonging to and with Wen Kexing. ]

[A silly, but sweet monster that obviously needs help navigating the world! Maybe that's why Kexing likes them so much.]

Mm when you say it like that, I'm ready to say my vows right here!

[He sets the baby monster on Zishu's chest and grins.]

But first... Names?

[ Zishu doesn't mind helping! ]

I considered myself yours from the moment you told me who you were.

[ He settles on his back and cuddles the silly little monster with a grin. ]
